COVENTRY - If you enjoy dining out for breakfast, but hate rushing to get dressed, your problem is now solved. At PJ's Diner, everyone, staff as well as customers, is encouraged to make themselves at home and come eat their morning meal in their pajamas.

Pamela DiMicco and Mary Day, owners of PJ's Diner, located at 608 Tiogue Avenue, in Coventry, explained that their restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere, where people can come for some good food and good conversation.
"We really like what we have created here at PJ's. This building was the perfect size that we were looking for," said DiMicco. "This place is very nice. It's small and cozy, so our customers really seem to feel at home here."

According to DiMicco, PJ's Diner is a restaurant that specializes in breakfast and lunch items. "Most people come in here for breakfast," she said. "Our Big Boy breakfasts seem to be our biggest seller on the menu. These breakfasts include the works: eggs, a few different meats, hash browns, and toast. It can really fill anyone up."

PJ's also serves lunch items, including hamburgers, cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, hot dogs, soups, and other lunch dishes. "People really just seem to like to come here and sit and chat and play Keno," said DiMicco. "We have only been open for about six months, and we already have a good number of regular customers. We feel fortunate that business has been good since we opened and we would like to thank all of our customers for this."

PJ's is the first restaurant that Day has opened, but it is DiMicco's second. For the past 14 years, the latter has been co-owner with her husband Domenic, of Domenic's Restaurant and Lounge, in Coventry.
Both DiMicco and Day say that they have no plans of expanding their diner, but they do have plans to open every other Friday night as an after-hours coffee house.

"Along with being a co-owner of this diner, Mary is also a Providence Police Officer and an entertainer," DiMicco explained. "Mary never stops. Recently, she announced that following the holidays, she plans on turning PJ's into a small coffee house on the second and fourth Friday evening of every month, where she can play her guitar and sing. It really should be cool."

PJ's Diner is open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. For more information, call 823-7850.
